A review of the approval and QC testing procedures for FM approval of deluge valves. FM requirements significantly differ from UL requirements. The FM requirements are more directed to actual application along with function testing, while UL is a verification of function only. This review will be followed by actually testing a valve to the FM requirements on our new hydraulic test bench. The valve to be tested will be the first and only valve to achieve FM approval for a deluge valve that has the capability to be remotely closed and reset. All other FM approved valves require manual closing and resetting at the actual valve location.
Note: we will also be voting on officers and board positions.
