The presenter has been in Law Enforcement for more than 30 years and has worked in virtually every areal of law enforcement from patrol to Homicide. His was the prior Commander of the SwAT team and current Director of the Training Academy.
The presentation is known as Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events and is a brief overview of active attacker profiles and trends associated with these types of attackers. The course is designed
on the Avoid, Deny, Defend (ADD) strategy developed by ALERRT in 2004, provides strategies, guidance and a proven plan for surviving an active shooter event. Topics include the history and prevalence of active shooter events, civilian response options, medical issues, and considerations for conducting drills.
